Description

I wasn't sure if I should post this, but I wanted to put some of my commercial work up here too. The photo was taken by my friend Jeff Herbert http://www.herbertstudios.com. All manipulation by me.

We tried to shoot the bulb lit, but the filiament kept reflecting off the glass and it illuminated the dust particles inside the glass. Plus, doing it this way gave us the ability to give the client the exact glow they were looking for. It may look simple, but it actually took a while to get it right. But that's the thing about photomanips. You don't want the "evidence" of what you've done to get in the way of the final image.

I'll probably put more commercial work up. Just need to get the proper permissions.

**sorry about that last image at the bottom left. I don't know how that got in there.

I really like the yellow glow and the contrast of dark backround to the vibrant colored bulb. I also like how everything about this is symmetrical.

I think your the only one I know (here at GFX at least) that makes such a valid point about the manip being untraceable, thus a success. It seems here that photomanip is generalized mostly to dark/gritty collage or surrealistic compositions..(don't get me wrong, many are very good).

Great job on the bulb. I think it would great to see more of the commercial side of photomanip. I liked how that one with the tanning bed came out (I think I saw the links on a forum somewhere).

I'll post that one when I can find the high res images. They got backed up, but I haven't been able to find them. I also have some car ones, but I don't think I'll get permission for those. Bummer.

I'm really impressed by this Samson. This is perfect except one tiny detail. ( I still gave you a ten though) The entire perimeter of the bulb shows a nice clear outline except for at the very top where it is blurred. See, I'm starting to get picky like you! Hehe.

Great job my friend.

Michelle, yup that's actually intentional. This is one of those old-fashioned bulbs. It has sort of a -- hmm how do you describe it? Sort of a nipple -- for lack of a better word -- at the top. In the final layout the top is more or less cut off anyway.
